  • Beyonce has been nominated in five categories at this year’s Soul Train Awards. The 30-year old RB/pop singer is up for Record of the Year for “Best Thing I Never Had”, Best Dance Performance for “Run the World (Girls)”, Album of the Year for “4”, and Best Female RB/Soul Artist. Congratulations Beyonce and good luck! The 2011 Soul Train Awards tapes on November 17 in Atlanta and will air on Centric and BET on November 27. I wonder if she’ll be able to rake them all up. If not, what do you think she’ll be taking home? I’m sure she’ll take at least one.

  • Jason Derulo and Leona Lewis both took their turns gracing the X Factor stage, just in different countries. Jason went to X Factor Australia where the RB/pop singer performed his latest singles “It Girl” and “Don’t Wanna Go Home”. Vocals aside, I say he killed it. As for Leona, the British pop star went to X Factor Germany to perform her 2008 single “Run”. No, it’s not an old video, it really is a recent performance. She did a flawless job but I just don’t get why she decided to perform a 3-year old song. She’s just not giving her Aviici collaboration a chance!

  • Beyonce is featured on the cover of the November 2011 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, which hits newsstands on October 25. The 30-year old RB singer spoke about pregnancy and motherhood with the magazine, saying “It was important to me that I gave myself time to focus on becoming the woman I want to be, building my empire, my relationship, and my self-worth, before I became a mother. Now God has blessed us with the ultimate.” Beyonce also talked about her relationship with hubby Jay-Z, saying “We have been together since I was 20 years old. We took our time and developed an unbreakable friendship before we got married. I admire his ability to inspire others. To me, Jay represents the American dream. Jay’s music has helped define our generation. All that he has overcome and worked to achieve gives millions hope that they can become whatever they want to be. I respect him so much; he is a great man and a great artist.”

  • Kanye West was spotted marching alongside other protestors at the Occupy Wall Street movement this past Monday in New York City. The 34-year old rapper brought along his buddy Russell Simmons to help him stand up for the cause. Many celebrities have gotten together to protest at Occupy Wall Street, which fights against financial greed and corruption. Stars such as Penn Badgley, Zoe Kravitz, Mark Ruffalo, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have all lent their voice to the cause. It’s nice to see people that carry great influence support such a cause. Here’s to hoping that someone will finally listen soon enough.

  • After the single All About Tonight, released this summer, British singer Pixie Lott returns with a new song, What Do You Take Me For, a collaboration with Pusha T. Pixie Lott announces her most recent single, What Do You Take Me For, featuring Pusha T., upcoming on November 7th, with the album Happy Foolish Young, Music-News informs. com What Do You Take Me For is a catchy track produced by Rusko, an important name in dubstep music. Pusha T. plays alongside Pixie Lott, a future rap star, who recently signed with the label of Kanye West, Good Music. The British artists first album, Turn It Up was released two years ago, in September 2009 and has sold no less than 1 million copies. The material earned three nominations at the British Music Awards in 2010, an MTV Award and number one hits.

  • Idris Elba has compared Jay-Z to Stringer Bell, the drug-dealing character he played on cult TV series, The Wire. The Luther actor says that when he met the rapper he was immediately reminded of the role that made him a star in the US. Theres a way Jay-Z looks you dead in your eye and doesnt look away that reminded me of Stringer, Elba, 39, tells Essence magazine. The irony of the comparison is not lost on the Hackney-born actor who is aware of the rappers past career as a drug dealer. Born Shawn Corey Carter, Jay-Z started selling crack cocaine in his Brooklyn neighbourhood when he was just 13. The 41-year-old has been open about his criminal past. Elba met Jay-Z at the premiere of Obsessed, the 2009 film he starred in opposite the rappers wife, Beyonce.

  • Timbaland recently released the music video for his song “Pass at Me”. The song, which features rapper Pitbull, is a new dance number from the 39-year old producer and songwriter. Timbaland recently spoke about the song, saying that he was inspired by Lou Bega’s track “Mambo No. 5”. He described the song as “It’s not sterile. A lot of dance music out there is too clean this one is bass hits and it makes you move!” As for the video, it’s that regular hip hop and dance video where you see a lot of hot girls shaking their thing, yachts, mansions, beaches and pools.
